Your new company
You will be working for a global provider of training and critical operations solutions. This company harnesses cutting-edge digital and physical technologies to enhance the safety of its customers. In this 2-month contract, you will be responsible for taking the lead on EHS for their Australia operations.
Your new role
Responsible for the implementation and continuous improvement of the Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) which complies to the organisation's policies, legislation, contracts, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
The role will spearhead developing and maintaining a "safety first, always" culture across the company by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, strategy, direction and specialist advice in order to achieve the organisation's goals to be a global employer of choice and work-class leader in safety.

Develop and implement strategic direction including vision, objectives, and actionable plans to support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) goals.

Build EHS capability by training, coaching, and mentoring personnel such as committee members and safety representatives.

Establish and maintain an effective EHS Management System (EHSMS) that ensures compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Provide strategic EHS leadership through data analysis to identify risks, hazards, improvement opportunities, and best practices. Offer guidance on capability development and operational excellence.

Lead EHS reviews including management reviews and other assessments required by legislation, internal policies, or contractual obligations.

Collaborate with global and regional EHS teams to align and sustain the organization's EHS vision, objectives, and performance targets.
What you'll need to succeed

You must have a minimum of 5 years experience of working in a similar role.

Capable of working independently and managing competing priorities.

Proven leadership and management of a team, especially contractor.

An extensive understanding of workplace, health and safety regulations and best practices.

A team player, a positive attitude, happy nature, willing to learn and with a high work ethic and discipline.

Experience and confidence in supporting and interacting with customers, senior executives and Board members in a large, complex organisation.

Advanced skills and knowledge of productivity suites (Microsoft Office), particularly calendar and inbox management;

Communicate effectively and proactively with different levels within the organisation, and external stakeholders.

A willingness to do interstate travel
