Hays is partnering with a leading global technology organisation to recruit an experienced EHS Operations Specialist for an 11-month contract commencing in late September. This is an exciting opportunity to join a collaborative team and drive safety initiatives across a contemporary corporate workplace.

Your new role

Working within a dynamic office-based environment, you will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programmes that support safe day-to-day operations. You will act as a trusted subject-matter expert, partnering with a wide range of stakeholders across facilities, HR, wellness, workplace operations and leadership teams.

This role offers a unique blend of operational EHS management, incident investigation, risk assessment, compliance and stakeholder engagement.

  • Develop, implement and continuously improve workplace EHS programmes and management systems
  • Conduct safety and regulatory risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate risk
  • Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis, reporting and corrective action implementation
  • Manage incident reporting processes and maintain accurate safety records and metrics
  • Analyse safety data, identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections and audits
  • Provide expert advice on ergonomics and workplace health and safety matters
  • Support the planning and delivery of large-scale workplace events by providing safety guidance and risk management support
  • Collaborate closely with facilities management partners and regional EHS teams
  • Provide EHS advice relating to minor dry laboratory environments, including electronic and electrical workspaces
  • Build strong relationships across the business to promote a positive safety culture

What you'll need to succeed

  • 5-7+ years' experience in Environmental, Health & Safety
  • Demonstrated experience managing EHS programmes within a corporate, technology, professional services, financial services or similar office-based environment
  • Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, compliance frameworks and risk management principles
  • Proven experience leading incident investigations and conducting root cause analysis
  • Experience managing ergonomic assessments and office-based safety programmes
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting safety data and metrics
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach to problem solving
