Your new role

Your new role as a HR advisor will support on all matters relating to industrial relations including all the management of workplace issues, interpretation of Modern Awards and the National Employment Standards and the provision of advice and education all relevant employee relations matters. You'll provide support, coaching and advice to managers on workforce planning initiatives including succession planning, talent management and supporting the organisation to achieve its strategic intents.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Sound knowledge of contemporary human resource management principles and practices, and relevant legislation, standards and industrial instruments within Australia.
  • Sound experience in employment relations issues including interpretation of legislation and industrial instruments and enterprise bargaining.
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of Fair Work Act and also NES.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, consulting, coaching and negotiating skills including the ability to liaise and provide advice to management and staff on a wide range of human resource issues
  • Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively research and undertake projects aimed at improving systems, processes and procedures relevant to human resource management.
  • Strong generalist experience with in depth exposure to Employee Relations and case management;
  • Ability to work in complex, diverse and unionised environment.
  • Ability to coach and mentor managers and other HR professionals in undertaking day to day HR responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing a high level of advice and support across the broad spectrum of human resource management activities preferably within the aged care industry.
  • Must have previous demonstrated experience of employee agreement bargaining with union representation in addition bargaining representatives
  • Knowledge of workplace Health and Safety requirements and practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the practical application of contemporary best practice in human resource management, industrial relations and workforce development
