HR Advisor - Tertiary Education

Location: Sydney CBD

Duration: Temporary while permanent recruitment takes place, could go perm for the right candidate

Start date: early January

Hourly Rate: $51/hour + super

We are seeking an experienced HR Advisor to join a tertiary education institution on a short-term basis. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, confident in compliance work, and advisory and comfortable handling a high volume of administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all submissions from schools comply with legislation, enterprise agreements, Awards and organisational policies
• Review and process contract variations, draft letters, and check documentation accuracy and compliance
• Manage leave requests (parental, unpaid, flexible work) and advise on compliance
• Provide hands-on advisory support to stakeholders and respond to escalated queries
• Work within a ticketing system to manage reactive queries efficiently
• Collaborate with recruitment partners and maintain accurate records

What We're Looking For:

• Strong HR advisory experience with compliance focus
• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and Enterprise Agreements and Awards
• Comfortable picking up the phone and engaging with stakeholders
• Australian HR experience preferred; however, the role is open to WHV
