This role sits within a high-performing team responsible for designing and implementing strategic learning programs that support organisational priorities and workforce development.

Your new role
As the Assistant Director, Learning & Capability, you will lead the development and delivery of complex learning and workforce capability initiatives. A key focus of the role will be driving cultural safety programs and partnering with stakeholders to enhance organisational capability and support improved outcomes for First Nations communities.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Leading the design and implementation of learning and capability programs.
  • Providing strategic advice to senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Managing stakeholder engagement, consultation and partnership activities.
  • Supporting cultural safety and workforce capability initiatives.
  • Monitoring program outcomes, risks and performance measures.
  • Leading and mentoring team members to deliver high-quality outcomes.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you will demonstrate:
  • Experience leading Learning & Development, capability or organisational development programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Exceptional written communication and strategic advisory capability.
  • Experience delivering complex programs in a government or large organisational environment.
  • An understanding of cultural safety principles and experience working with First Nations peoples, communities or organisations will be highly regarded.
