Part Time Payroll Officer - Hybrid - Contract

A Prestigious Global Bank is seeking a talented Payroll Officer to join their HR team in Sydney.

This newly created role will report to the Payroll Manager. You will also work closely with the Compensation & Benefits Team and the broader HR team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll data for new hires, terminations, and ongoing staff
  • Run bi-weekly payroll for Australia and New Zealand
  • Handle terminations and manual payments
  • Reconcile payroll deductions and ensure accurate tax and superannuation contributions
  • Answer employee payroll inquiries
  • Generate reports and maintain payroll records
  • Assist HR and Payroll teams with projects
  • Participate in annual system upgrades

Qualifications:

  • Strong numerical skills and understanding of Australian and New Zealand employment laws
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Relevant degree in HR, Business, Finance, or similar field (preferred)
  • Experience in CHRIS21/iChris or similar payroll system is a plus

To secure this role you will have some payroll experience and the interest in pursuing a career in Payroll within a cohesive HR team. You may be early career or mid-career with an inclination to towards transactional and processing work. 

The position will be an ongoing temp opportunity that will run to the middle of 2025 as a minimum.

The position will part-time. The bank is open to candidates who would like to work 2 or 3 days per week.

The role will be hybrid - split between home and the CBD office.
