Six-month contract opportunity with a State Government organisation!

Your new company

We are currently working with a State Government organisation, to recruit a Human Resources generalist at the AO5 level. Based on the Brisbane CBD fringe, you will be working across interesting subject matter on a six-month contract.

Your new role

As a Human Resources generalist, you'll be shaping and executing strategies and frameworks that deliver measurable changes and cultural improvements, including HR, training and performance frameworks, the Culture and Wellbeing Strategy, and HR policies and procedures. This also involves:

  • Strategic HR Management: Support long‑term planning and workforce culture initiatives that enhance performance.
  • Workforce Planning: Identify workforce needs and skill gaps to meet future organisational demands.
  • Employee Relations: Maintain positive workplace relations, resolve conflicts, and ensure fair, compliant practices.
  • Professional Development: Coordinate training programs and assess their effectiveness.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment, from advertising to final selection.
  • Injury & Rehabilitation: Manage incidents, support recovery, and coordinate return‑to‑work in line with legislation.
  • Policy: Develop, review, and refine HR policies to meet organisational and legislative requirements.
  • Procedure: Maintain consistent HR procedures and drive process improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven ability to contribute to developing organisational plans and strategies, with a capacity for creative thinking in dynamic or evolving environments.
  • Knowledge and experience across key strategic workforce areas, including workforce planning, capability and organisational development, change management, and equity and diversity.
  • Strong coordination skills, with the capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes within set timeframes.
