A generalist HR Business Partner is required for a standalone site-based DIDO role.
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced HR Business Partner to join a mining operation in a standalone HR role. Based on site and working a balanced DIDO 5:2 / 4:3 roster, this position is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic operational environment and enjoys being a trusted partner to leaders and teams, whilst enjoying the freedom of weekends at home.
Working closely with the site leadership and corporate HR teams, you will provide comprehensive HR support across all day‑to‑day and strategic people matters. This includes managing employee and industrial relations issues, guiding leaders through complex case management, ensuring compliance with policies and legislative requirements, and maintaining strong governance across site activities. You will also take responsibility for engaging with contractors and labour‑hire partners, ensuring effective vendor management and alignment with operational standards. Your ability to build strong relationships, offer practical advice, and act with confidence and autonomy will be essential to your success.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day HR advice, coaching and support to site leaders and employees.
- Manage employee relations and industrial relations matters, including performance issues, grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety requirements and relevant employment legislation.
- Lead workforce planning activities, supporting recruitment, mobilisation, onboarding and workforce transitions.
- Maintain accurate records, reporting and documentation to meet audit, governance and regulatory requirements.
- Build strong, effective relationships with contractors, labour‑hire partners and service vendors to ensure alignment with site expectations.
- Support the implementation of HR initiatives, projects, change activities and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work collaboratively with the leadership team to drive positive culture, engagement and high‑performance outcomes.
- Provide guidance on award and enterprise agreement interpretation
- Act as the first point of contact for all HR matters on site, operating confidently in a standalone capacity.
We are seeking an HR professional with experience in mining, resources, construction or project-based environments, supported by strong ER/IR knowledge and a practical understanding of Australian employment legislation. This is a role for someone who is self‑sufficient, adaptable and capable of balancing hands‑on support with forward‑thinking activity.
