Drive-In/Drive-Out | 8:6, 5:2/4:3 or 4:3/4:3 Roster
Are you a capable HR generalist looking to broaden your operational experience and build your career within the mining sector?
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior HR Advisor or HR Business Partner to join a site-based operation in a hands-on generalist role. With a strong focus on employee relations and case management, you will work closely with leaders to provide practical advice and support across the full employee lifecycle.
Previous mining experience is not essential. This opportunity would particularly suit a Human Resources professional from an operational, industrial or fast-paced environment looking to gain exposure to mining, or an established HR professional wanting to consolidate their site-based experience.
Offering a choice of 8:6, 5:2/4:3 or 4:3/4:3 drive-in/drive-out rosters, the position provides flexibility while developing highly transferable operational HR capability.
Duties & Responsibilities will include:
- Managing employee relations cases from initial enquiry through to resolution, ensuring matters are handled consistently, professionally and in a timely manner
- Supporting and coaching leaders through performance, conduct, disciplinary, grievance and workplace matters
- Conducting and supporting workplace investigations, including gathering information, documentation and recommendations
- Providing practical advice on the interpretation and application of employment legislation, policies, procedures and employment conditions
- Partnering with leaders to identify and proactively address people, performance and workforce issues
- Supporting performance management and development processes
- Providing generalist HR support across the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to exit
- Supporting recruitment, mobilisation, onboarding and internal employee movements
- Assisting with workforce planning, organisational changes and position management
- Supporting employee engagement, retention and workforce initiatives
- Working closely with payroll and other internal stakeholders to resolve employee queries and employment matters
- Maintaining accurate HR documentation, employee records and case management information
- Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and ways of working
- Building capability within the leadership team through practical advice, coaching and education
- Contributing to broader People & Culture projects and initiatives across the operation
You will be an experienced HR generalist who enjoys the practical side of business partnering and is comfortable managing a varied portfolio of employee matters. You will bring sound case management capability, confidence working with leaders and the judgement to balance employee, operational and business considerations. Recent exposure to the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards for Australia is essential.
You may already have mining or resources experience, although this is not essential. Experience within construction, manufacturing, transport, logistics, heavy industry or another operational environment would also transfer well.
Most importantly, you will be approachable, resilient and solution-focused, with the ability to build credibility across all levels of the workforce.
