Richmond Group is one of the largest community-based providers of mental health services in Tasmania with over 38 years' experience. They offer residential options, allied support services, and social inclusion programs across Tasmania for people experiencing mental ill health and/or psychosocial disability. Richmond Group is also a significant NDIS provider of six Supported Independent Living sites across the state. Its purpose is to contribute to a healthy community, where people are leaders in their own lives. They are an independent, non-government, non-religiously affiliated organisation that recognises people as people, not as their mental health diagnosis.

Your new role

The role of General Manager of People & Quality reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and leads a team of 4, including a Human Resources Business Partner, Recruitment Officer and two Quality Officers. This role sits within the Executive structure alongside the General Manager of Operations and General Manager of Business Services. This position will support the operational and cultural direction of Richmond Group and is responsible for ensuring that there is a strong emphasis on culture, engagement, workforce strategy, service quality and compliance.

The General Manager of People & Quality also provides the delicate balance of advocacy for both the organisational needs and the workforce. The other key focus is the quality and compliance requirements that are necessary to provide confidence to all stakeholders that Richmond Group delivers a quality of service in the community.

What you'll need to succeed

It is important that the General Manager of People & Quality is someone who not only brings their technical People & Culture experience to the position, but also holds a compassionate, considerate and respective approach to the role that enables the humanistic implementation of policy and process.

You will be able to show demonstrated experience in a lead or management level People & Culture position, have the ability to work effectively on several workstreams with competing deadlines and to that point, have effective time management skills. It is also critical that you will align your approach to the role with the organisation's values to consult and collaborate cohesively.

As well as the above, you will also hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Quality, Law or other qualification relevant to the role. It is necessary for you to also hold a current Police Check, a current Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check (WWVP) and a current Drivers License. You will also be able to travel state-wide as needed. The frequency currently sits at an overnight stay, once per quarter.
