Your new role

Through this role you will be responsible for providing generalist HR support and operations across the organisation. The role will be involved in a broad range of people and performance functions. The role will work closely with Business Leaders and the management team by coaching, guiding and knowledge sharing to build their own people management capabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing accurate and efficient transactional services as well as sound advice and support to drive high performance teams across the organisation.
  • Provide low to medium level strategic advice on a range of HR issues including interpretation of Agreements, awards, legislation, industrial relations issues, grievances, and performance management processes that eliminates or mitigates the company's exposure to litigation
  • Offer guidance on HR areas like Workforce Planning, Leadership, Collaboration, and Wellbeing to enhance team performance. This includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, development, and project initiatives.
  • Monitor, report and address emerging HR and workforce trends and provide accurate, timely and relevant HR metrics to Business Leaders.
  • Work with Business Leaders to drive a positive workplace culture.
  • Implement and maintain Continuous Improvement systems, standards and procedures.
  • Ensure a high level of confidentiality and discretion is always exercised.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, meeting timeframes, accuracy, driving positive change and improving business performance.
  • Provide timely HR administrative support for the People & Performance team, including Letters of Offer, Employment Agreements, Contract Variations, and Staff Exits.
  • Provide accurate and timely support in the processing of staff payroll and other related payments, including all statutory payments and reporting within set timeframes
  • Carry out effective and timely onboarding practices
  • Accurately maintain HR records and payroll documents ensuring data integrity is maintained within records and systems.
  • Ensure relevant employment related checks are performed and records maintained (i.e. police checks, eligibility, working with children checks etc.).
  • Ability to travel between offices

What you'll need to succeed

To excel in this role, you should have:
  • Strong HR background in Australia.
  • HR qualifications are desired
  • Strong IR & ER background
  • Proficient in employment, HR, and industrial relations legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Equal Opportunity Act, anti-discrimination laws, and relevant Awards and Agreements.
  • Payroll experience is desired
  • Embrace a collaborative mindset
  • Able to liaise, mediate and negotiate with all levels of staff.
  • Proven ability to meet multiple deadlines and provide support across multiple sites and multiple businesses.
  • High level of computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Applications, internal systems/ databases including HR3 and the intranet.
