Seeking a HR Business Partner with NFP experience salary of 120k plus super, 9 day fortnight south west sydney

Your new company
Hays is partnering with a values‑driven, not‑for‑profit organisation to appoint an experienced People & Culture Advisor / HR Business Partner into a newly defined, strategically aligned role. Based in south west Sydney with a salary up to 120k plus super with a 9 day fortnight.

Your new role

Reporting directly to a senior People & Culture leader, you will:
  • Partner with leaders to deliver practical, compliant, and people‑focused HR solutions
  • Support culture, workforce planning and change initiatives aligned with organisational strategy
  • Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, investigations and mediation
  • Oversee recruitment processes, onboarding, and employment lifecycle activities
  • Support workers compensation matters and liaise with insurers and key stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively within a psychosocial, values‑led environment where emotional intelligence and fit are critical
  • This role has been shaped to allow space for strategic thinking, rather than being overly weighted towards transactional HR.

What you'll need to succeed

You will bring:
  • A tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or similar
  • 3-5+ years' experience in a generalist HR or HR Business Partner role
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian awards and employment legislation
  • Proven experience managing complex employee relations matters
  • Confidence conducting investigations, supporting performance management and advising leaders
  • A collaborative, adaptable working style with high emotional intelligence
  • Experience working in regulated or people‑intensive environments (e.g. NFP, healthcare, education, services)
