Your new role

The P&C Business Partner reports to the Manager, Business Partnering, and provides a hands-on business partnering role to allocated business units and senior leaders across the organisation.

The role provides strategic high-level advice and support services through identifying key people opportunities and challenges to support the development and delivery of both bespoke people strategies as well as enterprise-wide people initiatives with the appropriate HR considerations.
The P&C Business Partner advises and coaches their client group on people-related issues and opportunities; influences senior leaders on the need to deliver on people-centric initiatives, procedures and change programs in line with strategic intent/direction.
  • Build trusted relationships with business leaders and align HR initiatives with strategic plans.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, promote compliance, and mitigate risk.
  • Support leaders on performance management, engagement, recruitment, remuneration, capability development, ER/IR issues, and workplace investigations.
  • Work closely with the People & Culture team to ensure programs reflect business unit needs.
  • Deliver strategic HR solutions across the employee lifecycle.
  • Interpret industrial instruments, contribute to ER/IR strategy, and recommend approaches to achieve business goals.
  • Manage employee grievances and investigations in line with values and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate high-profile HR projects and assist in developing and reviewing HR policies and procedures.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Relevant HR qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven experience advising on people matters across the employee life cycle.
  • Strong HR generalist background or specialisation in ER/IR, recruitment, learning, or performance and reward.
  • In-depth knowledge of workplace legislation, government policies, and contemporary HR/ER challenges.
  • Ability to provide high-quality strategic ER advice to mitigate risk.
  • Experience in organisational design, development, and change management.
  • Strong influencing, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Approachable style with a passion for collaboration and relationship building.
  • Sound judgment and ability to make rational decisions.
  • High levels of initiative, ownership, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in cross-functional teams.
  • Capability and enthusiasm for delivering and facilitating training.
