A growing HR consultancy supporting small–medium businesses across Australia is seeking an HR Business Partner to join their team. The organisation combines HR technology with practical, people‑first advisory support, acting as the outsourced HR function for clients across construction, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and other high‑volume ER environments.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional looking to broaden their exposure, manage varied ER casework, and develop into a more strategic advisor over time.

The Role

Reporting to a senior HR leader, the HR Business Partner will manage a portfolio of clients and provide end‑to‑end HR support. Key responsibilities include:

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide day‑to‑day HR and ER advice across performance, misconduct, investigations, warnings, and terminations
  • Interpret and apply modern awards and enterprise agreements
  • Draft and review employment contracts, letters, and HR documentation
  • Support HR administration including onboarding, offboarding, policy development, and employee record management
  • Manage client queries (primarily via email) within agreed SLAs
  • Build strong relationships with client leaders and act as a trusted advisor
  • Identify emerging issues and contribute to proactive HR solutions
  • Support the adoption of internal HR systems and technology tools

Growth Opportunity

  • Workforce planning and structural advice
  • Process improvement and technology‑enabled HR efficiencies

The Right Person

The successful candidate will bring:

  • 2–3+ years HR advisory experience, ideally in ER‑heavy environments
  • Strong knowledge of modern awards, enterprise agreements, and Fair Work processes
  • Demonstrated experience managing performance, misconduct, and termination matters
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and switch contexts effectively
  • Strong organisational skills and a practical, solutions‑focused approach
  • Confidence with HR systems and technology
  • A personable, grounded style with the ability to build trust quickly

Backgrounds that typically suit this role: retail, hospitality, construction, manufacturing, or outsourced HR consulting.
