Join a fast-paced Queensland Government team based in South Brisbane, focused on delivering high-quality learning solutions that support critical community services. This contract runs through to August 2026, with the potential for extension.

Your new role

As an Instructional Designer, you'll play a key role in transforming complex operational information into engaging, accessible learning experiences. Working closely with subject matter experts, you will design and develop a range of digital and multimedia learning products.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Designing and developing eLearning modules, microlearning resources, and video-based training
  • Creating storyboards and instructional frameworks to guide content development
  • Translating detailed operational procedures into clear, user-friendly training materials
  • Producing multimedia content, including video animation and screen recordings
  • Building and publishing SCORM-compliant courses in the LMS
  • Ensuring learning materials meet accessibility and inclusivity best practices
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure content aligns with organisational goals

What you'll need to succeed

You will bring strong hands-on experience in instructional design and digital learning development, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Essential:
  • Proven experience in instructional design or eLearning development

Strong proficiency in:

  • Articulate 360 (Storyline & Rise)
  • Vyond (video animation)
  • Canva (visual design)
  • Camtasia (video creation)
  • Experience developing storyboards and structured learning content
  • Strong ability to synthesise complex information into clear, engaging materials
  • Experience publishing SCORM-compliant content to LMS platforms
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Desirable:
  • Experience working in government or community-focused environments
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles
