Our Client
Our client is in the public sector and is located in the CBD. They are seeking a talented and driven People & Performance Manager to join the team on a temporary basis.
Your new role
This position is accountable for leading an Area responsible for providing operational HR advice, guidance, and support to the business. This includes HR support work at all levels, from transactional support, business partnering for different client groups, employee relations and injury management advice.
Your responsibilities
To provide an effective service, at the right price, to leaders across generalist HR and ER processes, including:

- Recruitment, including the management of campaigns and apprentices/graduate
- Policy interpretation and application
- Management coaching
- Organisational Development (within specific client groups) where there are performance issues or productivity opportunities
- Employee Relations (grievances, investigations, dispute resolution and employment instruments)
- Business change, including but not limited to support for restructures
- Business partnering, including understanding, and delivering HR solutions for business challenges such as the Strategic Initiatives
- Accountable for leadership of the Area, ensuring that team members at all levels are clear on their deliverables and know how to achieve them
- Acts as the escalation point for all operational HR activities, to find and resolve any issues or advise the team in the management of more complex cases
- Efficiently implement standardised frameworks and tools as designed by the Areas of Expertise
- Through the work of the team, consolidate business requirements to inform HR planning and prioritisation.
- Develop HR action plans and strategies that are aligned to and supportive of the Business Plan
What you need to succeed
- Extensive experience delivering a broad generalist HR portfolio, with experience in multiple HR specialities
- Strong leadership skills, with experience in coaching and developing HR practitioners at all levels, across multiple disciplines
- Evidence of proactively designing and delivering effective, pragmatic HR solutions for different business requirements
- Budgeting and planning experience
- Exceptional organisation and project management skills, to be able to forecast and deliver on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated and broad experience with a commercial approach to deliver ER solutions and tactical activities that support business outcomes
- A continuous improvement focus, to build on the status quo actively, to best position the function for future challenges
