Your new role
Reporting to the People & Culture Lead, you will manage all HR functions, including attraction, retention, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. You'll be responsible for implementing performance management and disciplinary processes that align with contemporary practices and Australian employment legislation. A key part of your responsibilities will be providing consultancy and advisory services to managers and staff on HR policies and procedures. You'll also identify, develop, and implement end-to-end recruitment processes to enhance efficiency. Advising managers on disciplinary, performance, grievance issues, and termination processes is essential, as is leading and implementing organisational change in collaboration with employees and key stakeholders.
Additionally, you'll conduct regular HR analysis and audits, manage the development, implementation, and review of HR policies and procedures, and foster a positive workplace culture that values and supports employees. Collaboration with Union organisations as required and developing and maintaining HR Information Systems are integral parts of the role. You'll manage direct reports and ensure their professional development while focusing on your own personal growth to align with contemporary HR practices.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in the People & Culture Manager position, candidates must have qualifications and proven experience in Human Resource Management or a related field, along with significant experience in a senior HR role. Essential skills include excellent communication, mediation, and facilitation abilities, strong organisational and time management skills, and the capacity to work independently with confidence in decision-making. A commitment to integrity, fairness, and transparency in HR practices is non-negotiable, along with a current Australian National Police Check and a driver's license.
Additionally, candidates should possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with high accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in negotiating and implementing Enterprise Agreements is highly desirable, as are strong ICT skills and proficiency in HR systems and reporting tools.
What you'll get in return
This opportunity is perfect for someone looking to make a significant impact in a dynamic and supportive environment. As the People & Culture Manager, you'll lead a dedicated team, drive meaningful organisational change, and have the flexibility to balance work with personal commitments.
