About the Organisation

Our client is a leading national professional services firm with a strong reputation for excellence and innovation. With a relatively new Chief People Officer, the People & Development function is undergoing an exciting period of transformation. The team is building greater sophistication in its HR structures and capabilities, and this role sits within the growing People Compliance Team a specialist area focused on people risk, HR policy, people compliance, and employee relations.

This is a hybrid role, with flexibility to work 4-5 days a week.

The Opportunity

This newly created role offers the chance to contribute to a high-performing People Team and gain exposure to complex and meaningful work. Reporting to the Head of Risk & Compliance, the People Risk & Compliance Advisor will:

  • Conduct research and draft new policies aligned with legislation and industry standards.
  • Support complex employee relations investigations, including note-taking, issue registers, and preparation of findings.
  • Interpret and apply awards and legislation, with a focus on the Fair Work Act and the Legal Services Award.
  • Assist with compliance reporting, including Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) requirements.
  • Contribute to audits, frameworks, and compliance trackers, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the People Team to strengthen compliance capability and deliver pragmatic solutions.

About You

We are seeking an HR professional who thrives in the HR Policy and employee relations space. You may already specialise in these areas, or you may be a Generalist HR advisor looking to deepen your expertise in legislation, policy, and compliance.

Key attributes include:

  • Strong interest in employment legislation, award interpretation, and compliance frameworks.
  • A passion for research, analysis, and writing  particularly drafting policies and reports.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex information.
  • Experience supporting a corporate client group or professional services environment is desirable.
  • Collaborative mindset, eager to contribute ideas and grow within a small, specialist team.

This is a unique opportunity to join a supportive specialist team within a large People Function. Youll gain exposure to complex matters, work closely with senior leaders, and do meaningful and progressive work.
