With new leadership in place and external consulting support engaged, this is a pivotal phase of change with a clear long term roadmap.

Your new role
As Remuneration & Benefits Lead, you will step into a high impact, executive facing role during a period of restructuring and operational change. The role will initially be offered as a short term contract, with a strong view to extension or permanent appointment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading executive and peer contract remuneration reviews, including GM level roles

  • Conducting job evaluation and benchmarking using Mercer or similar methodologies, supplemented with market data
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to explain outcomes, rationale and recommendations clearly and confidently
  • Supporting organisational restructure outcomes, including new roles, reevaluations and role changes
  • Acting as the technical expert while working closely with HRBPs, senior leaders and external consultants
  • Ensuring alignment with government protocols, governance requirements and upcoming Enterprise Agreement considerations

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in a senior remuneration or reward role, ideally within government or a complex public sector environment
  • Strong hands on experience with executive and peer level contracts
  • Deep expertise in job evaluation methodologies (Mercer highly regarded)
  • Confidence operating at executive and GM level, with the ability to clearly articulate how remuneration outcomes are reached
  • An assertive, credible and consultative communication style
  • Experience working through operational change or transformation
  • Ability to work in environments where processes may be manual and evolving
  • Enterprise Agreement exposure is advantageous

What you'll get in return

  • Immediate start contract role with a strong likelihood of extension or temp to perm
  • Senior, visible role driving executive level change
  • Opportunity to shape the future remuneration framework of a government organisation
  • Stability, scale and long term career opportunity
