A large Victorian public sector organisation is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Rostering Officer to support the delivery of a major statewide operational program. Working within a collaborative People Services team, you'll play a key role in coordinating workforce rosters, supporting payroll processes and ensuring staffing requirements are met during a high-profile and time-sensitive period.
Your new role
- Coordinate and administer workforce rostering activities, including scheduling, roster maintenance and employee communications
- Act as a key point of contact for employees and stakeholders regarding rostering and shift-related enquiries
- Ensure rosters are prepared and maintained in accordance with organisational policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate employee records and workforce data to support effective rostering and reporting processes
- Reconcile roster information against timesheets and support accurate payroll administration activities
- Produce reports and workforce data analysis using rostering systems and Microsoft Excel
- Work collaboratively with operational managers and internal stakeholders to support workforce planning outcomes
- Contribute to a responsive, customer-focused People Services function during peak operational periods
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated administration experience within Human Resources, workforce planning, scheduling, payroll or a similar operational environment
- Strong attention to detail and experience working with sensitive and confidential information
- Experience maintaining data integrity, records management and administrative processes
- Strong systems capability, including experience using HR, payroll, workforce management or rostering systems
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to generate reports and analyse workforce data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service focus
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks, work autonomously and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Exposure to public sector HR practices, enterprise agreements or workforce compliance requirements will be highly regarded
