We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor - Injury Management (AO6) to provide expert advice across workplace health and safety (WHS), wellbeing, and workers' compensation. In this role, you will drive strategy, influence outcomes, and build organisational capability in a complex and rewarding environment.

Your new role

In this position, you will:
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate WHS, wellbeing, and workers' compensation strategies aligned to legislation and best practice
  • Provide expert advice, coaching, and training to managers and staff on injury management, rehabilitation, and return-to-work processes
  • Manage complex workers' compensation cases, ensuring proactive, compliant, and outcome-focused case management
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including insurers, rehabilitation providers, and legal services to support effective claim resolution
  • Collaborate with internal corporate teams to prepare documentation for claims and legal matters
  • Support early intervention and recovery at work initiatives to reduce injury duration and improve outcomes
  • Monitor and analyse WHS and injury management data to identify trends and recommend improvements
  • Prepare high-quality reports, briefs, and submissions to support leadership decision-making
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture that prioritises wellbeing, capability, and high performance
This role is based in Brisbane CBD, with occasional travel required across regional Queensland.

What you'll need to succeed

You will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience managing high-volume and complex workers' compensation cases
  • Strong understanding of WHS legislation, injury management frameworks, and return-to-work practices
  • Proven ability to provide trusted advice and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive insights
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report and brief preparation
  • Ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgement in complex situations
Desirable:
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator certification

Mandatory:

  • Current Class C driver's licence
