Your new company
You'll join a small, specialist public sector team delivering a workforce initiative focused on encouraging experienced industry professionals to consider teaching careers.
We are seeking candidates located across Queensland, including metropolitan, regional and remote areas. State‑wide engagement is central to this work, with travel required at times to support outreach activities.
Your new role
This campaign includes two roles at different levels, working closely together. You may apply for one or both roles depending on your experience.
Team Leader - Talent Attraction and Acquisition | A07
You will lead a small team responsible for identifying and engaging people interested in moving from industry into vocational education roles.
You'll oversee daily activities, provide guidance and coaching, maintain progress against priorities, and improve how engagement work is delivered. You'll also remain hands‑on, engaging directly with candidates and partners as needed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting a small recruitment-focused team
- Setting priorities and coordinating work
- Strengthening outreach approaches and engagement tools
- Monitoring candidate activity and progress
- Supporting planned outreach, including regional engagement
Talent Attraction and Acquisition Specialist | A06
You'll focus on speaking directly with people considering a career change into vocational education. You'll explain pathways, answer questions, and help candidates understand next steps.
You'll manage a steady flow of conversations, maintain accurate records, and contribute positively to a small, fast‑moving team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contacting potential candidates through phone, digital and in‑person channels
- Building rapport and maintaining engagement
- Speaking with people from diverse industries and backgrounds
- Providing clear information about teaching pathways
- Recording candidate interactions and progress
What you'll need to succeed
For either role, you'll bring strong people skills and confidence working in an outcomes‑focused environment.
You will demonstrate:
- Experience in recruitment, candidate engagement, sales or a related field
- Confident communication and ability to build trust
- Strong organisation and time‑management skills
- Genuine interest in helping people explore career pathways
- A collaborative mindset and professional judgement
- Ability to work independently and within a small team
- An unrestricted driver's licence and willingness to travel within Queensland
- Australian citizenship, permanent residency or valid work rights
For the Team Leader role, experience supervising or coaching others is required.
For the Specialist role, strong engagement skills and enthusiasm for outreach are key.
