Your new role
Your role will support the department to provide high-level support to the Director-General, the Executive Leadership Team, and the department in the areas of audit; finance; procurement; people and culture; information and digital; strategic communication and engagement and business support. In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Provide high quality, accurate and timely workforce analysis and reports to support strategic and operational decision-making across the department.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for standard workforce reporting processes, focusing on automation, and reducing manual effort.
- Manage and coordinate ad hoc reporting requests, ensuring responsiveness, accuracy, and suitability with client needs.
- Provide expert advice and interpretation of People data.
- Build capabilities within People and Culture and the business to utilise report tools in a self-service manner.
- Act as the subject-matter expert on People and Culture projects involving workforce reporting and IT systems.
- Identify efficiencies and opportunities for improvement in business process and reporting.
- Develop dashboards and reporting in Power BI, drawing data together from a wide range of data sources.
- Oversee system administration and support, ensuring effective operation and user support and resolution of enquiries.
What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Demonstrated relevant experience in a HR data reporting and analytics role.
- Data analysis and data visualisation experience, business intelligence software such as Power BI.
- Demonstrated experience in building and sustaining relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of client-focused outcomes.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (Power Query desired) and Power BI.
- The ability to lead and participate in projects involving a range of stakeholders and prioritise projects and tasks efficiently in line with team commitments.
- Self-driven and can work collaboratively and independently to achieve outcomes.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to innovate and continuously improve.
- Visualisation skills and the ability to lead dashboard design are desired.
