- Stability With Purpose (and a Competitive Package)
Your new company
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high impact HR leadership role within a purpose led, government aligned organisation that is genuinely investing in its people. With a workforce of both employees and a large volunteer community, the organisation plays a meaningful role in the community and is now at a pivotal turning point. If you're looking for a role where you can leave your mark, build something meaningful from the ground up and be trusted to lead change, this is it.
Your new role
This is not a "keep the lights on" HR Manager role. This is a build, shape and transform opportunity. Reporting to the Group Manager, Business Services, you'll take ownership of the entire HR function, rebuilding the team, modernising systems, lifting capability and embedding best practice HR, IR and learning frameworks across the organisation. You'll be hands on when needed, strategic where it counts, and trusted to get things moving.
What you'll be driving:
-
Rebuilding and leading a newly formed HR team
-
End to end ownership of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance and offboarding
-
Supporting leaders through performance, behavioural and employee relations matters
-
Supporting the wider team in upcoming Enterprise Agreement negotiations and implementation
-
Transforming HR from paper based processes to streamlined electronic systems
-
Embedding strong compliance, governance and workforce reporting frameworks
-
Collaborating closely with the Safety Manager on workers compensation, wellbeing and risk
-
Supporting a diverse workforce of employees and a large volunteer base
This is a role where you'll be in the engine room, visible across the organisation, and genuinely making things better.
What you'll need to succeed
-
Degree qualified in Human Resources, or a related discipline
-
An experienced HR leader or senior generalist ready to step into a broad, influential role
-
Comfortable operating in complex, regulated or government aligned environments
-
Experienced with Enterprise Agreements and industrial relations (highly desirable)
-
A practical problem solver with a strong systems mindset and experience uplifting HR processes
-
A confident, personable communicator who builds trust quickly across diverse stakeholder groups
-
A natural collaborator who enjoys being hands on and isn't afraid to roll up your sleeves
-
Calm, pragmatic and adaptable when navigating long tenured teams and cultural change
-
Experience with HRIS platforms (Employment Hero particularly) and exposure to volunteer based organisations will be highly regarded.
What you'll get in return
-
A genuine opportunity to build and lead the human resource function from scratch
-
The autonomy to implement real change
-
A broad, influential role combining HR, IR, systems, learning and culture
-
An organisation that is down to earth, collaborative and open to new ideas
-
Immediate start and a visible role in shaping the organisation's future
If you're tired of maintaining broken systems and ready to create something better, this role offers challenge, influence and genuine career impact.
